Discover my approach

Josyanne Lapointe, kinesiologist with a behavior approach

My goal: to help you feel better

The best favour I can do for my clients is to give them concrete tools to understand how their brain and their environment can influence their relationship with physical activity.

I use a scientific approach rooted in the psychology of physical activity (the field in which I did my master's degree). I love my clients! But my goal is for them to no longer need me to enjoy moving.

What is a kinesiologist?

An expert who can help you safely adopt an active lifestyle

Some clients are referred to me by osteopaths or physiotherapists. They're looking to get moving after muscular pain, injury or surgery. Others are interested in training for: weight loss, muscle building, prevention... All reasons are good!

What they have in common: they want to integrate physical activity into their daily lives in the simplest, easiest and most enjoyable way possible. Sounds interesting?

"Josyanne is an extraordinary Kinesiologist. She makes a difference in people's lives. Her skills related to behavior change have helped our Kinesiologists to better understand our clients' obstacles and to develop a business service to promote adoption of an active lifestyle among their employees."

client wanting to overcome pain

"Josyanne suggested a program that evolved as I progressed. She made me realize that activities like working outside or dancing with my kids were great ways to get moving when you have less time. She also provided me with relaxation and nutrition resources to help me on my journey. I highly recommend her, you'll leave feeling fitter and more fulfilled!"

What are the differences?

Together we can move, but sometimes talking gets you further!

A private coach is often like a training partner who pushes you to achieve your goals. That's great! But if the motivation isn't there, or if you need to unlearn a habit that leads to injury, a deeper intervention may be required.

That's where I come in. Kinesiology considers the body as a whole. It recognizes the relationship between movement and physical and mental well-being. To my experience as a kinesiologist, I have added a psychological component, resulting in a behavioral approach that is entirely personalized and akin to counseling. Our body is intelligent and adapts to our habits; we just have to be smarter than it is to guide it in the right direction!
